Charges:
- Draft clear, measureable outcomes for the general education based on the established mission statement
- Review the LEAP literature (AACU) for outcomes, assessment methods
- Research possible assessment models for a general education program
- Propose an assessment model for Viterbo University
- Propose how the general education program will be reviewed n an outgoing basis

Subcommittee 2: Shape & Structure

Charges:
- Research and propose a structure for a general education program to achieve the mission/learning outcomes for the program
- Work with the academic regulations committee to discuss academic policies related to the Gen Ed (Course levels, # of upper division credits, BA/BS requirements)

Subcommittee 3: Nuts & Bolts

Charges:
- Assuming a freshman and senior experience of some sort, review the literatures on features that are essential in these experiences to promote student success and retention
- Propose components that should be included to prevent the “sophomore doldrums”
- Propose mechanisms for integrating experiences in student life, global ed, campus ministry and other offices into the general education courses (learning occurring out of the “Traditional” classroom)
Review the literature on effective pedagogy for general education courses
