Love EVERY Body is a new weeklong event hosted by Rec Sports. Take this week to show love for your body by engaging in healthy activity led by our trained professionals.
Even if you choose not to participate in our activities this week, we ask that you promote a healthy body image and body confidence to the Viterbo community, especially the students.
The schedule of events follows. The body composition testing, Zumbathon, nutrition counseling, and yoga supersession are specifically recommended for employees/faculty to attend, but all events are open to the entire campus community. Join in as many as you like.
Body Composition Testing – Mathy Center Conference Room 203. Sign up for a time slot to guarantee a session or stop by for a walk-in to find out your body’s numbers. Body composition tests indicate the percentage of your body that is fat versus lean mass, as well as water content, and many other numbers that give you a great baseline or follow up measure to use for comparison. Testing will be done in a private space with fitness professionals to interpret the numbers and answer questions. Times offered:
- Monday, Jan. 16 from 6–8 a.m.
- Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 4–6 p.m.
- Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 6–8 a.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 19 from 4–6 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m.–noon
- Monday, Jan. 23–Wednesday, Jan. 25 by appointment only
Positive Changes All Day Long – Mathy Center or Student Union. Write positive messages for the Viterbo community, which will be hung over the mirrors in the fitness center for the remainder of the week to remind everyone to have positive self-talk. While you’re here, grab a Nutrition Journal for the week (for Thursday’s event) and learn more about the week’s events.
Zumbathon 7–9 p.m. – Mathy Center gymnasium. Have fun and feel comfortable in your own skin as you shake, shimmy, and dance to these Latin jams. All levels and abilities are welcome in this class and Zumba gear will be raffled. This event is open to the La Crosse community. Must be 18 to enter.
Small Group Training from 4–5:30 p.m. – Mathy Center gymnasium. Let personal trainers take you on a boot camp style workout within small groups utilizing partner exercises to work out and be social.
Nutrition Counseling from 12:30–2:30 p.m. - School of Nursing Building room 289-292. Log your diet for three days, sign up for a 10-minute consultation, and get advice from dietetics students on carbohydrate, protein, fat, calcium, and iron intake.
Yoga Supersession from 7–8:30 p.m. - Mathy Center multipurpose room. Great for beginners and advanced yogis, attend for an extra-long yoga session and a chance to win free yoga gear.
