College Visits

A college visit can be the deciding factor for a student considering multiple colleges. College visits allow a student to get a feel for the campus environment, the campus culture, the facilities and resources available to them, and what a day in college might be like at a particular university.

Visit Viterbo

At Viterbo, we strongly encourage all prospective students to visit for a personalized tour of campus and a meeting with their own admission counselor to discuss their interests and opportunities. La Crosse has endless sights and places to visit to get an even better feel of the surrounding community.

The Surrounding Community: Why Does It Matter?

When you choose a university, you are not simply committing to the campus, you’re also choosing the university’s surrounding community.

Opportunities

During college, you will naturally begin to explore the greater community. Whether you are looking for a part-time job, internship opportunities, recreational activities, or local entertainment, the community is very important.

The Right Fit

The city or town in which you live is important in determining the right “fit” for your college experience. From metropolitan cities to rural small towns, colleges are everywhere.

The La Crosse Community

La Crosse, population 55,000, is located on the Mississippi River and is surrounded by beautiful bluffs. The unique landscape in this region was untouched by glaciers, allowing for amazing terrain and recreational opportunities.

The city also features an exciting nightlife and exceptional cultural and arts opportunities. From 720 acres of hiking and nature in Hixon Forest, the Great River Bike Trail, downhill skiing, and concerts at the La Crosse Center, to just hanging out and socializing with friends at one of the city’s many establishments, there is always something to do.

Recently, Outside Magazine named La Crosse as the 11th Best Place to Live in the entire U.S.

Schools.com also recognized La Crosse as a Top 10 Small College Town (March 2016).
