College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
CLEP Exams enable students to earn college credit by examination.
Students can register for up to two exams for the test date. Students must be currently enrolled at Viterbo. However, students planning to enroll next term may take the exam now and credit will be awarded in the subsequent semester. CLEP exams consist of a 90-minute multiple choice objective tests. Students taking any English exam are required to take a separate 90-minute essay section. Thus, only one English exam can be taken in a day. Students are required to pre-register by 4 p.m., four days prior to the exam and pay a $10 administrative fee for each exam (payable to Viterbo University by check or cash). A completed Pre-Registration Form must accompany payment. At the time of the exam, students are required to pay $80 by credit card to the College Board online. The total cost for each exam is $80.
If you have questions, contact Jane Eddy, Director of the Academic Resource Center, Murphy Center Room 332, Viterbo University, 900 Viterbo Dr., La Crosse, WI 54601, or telephone 608-796-3194. Students repeating a CLEP exam must leave six months between test dates. General information can be found at the College Board website.
