Research Interests

I work to solve problems through the design and synthesis of organic molecules. My undergraduate and Ph.D. work entailed total synthesis of biologically active natural products, which led me to a career in developing antimicrobial and anti-cancer drugs at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical Company. Since entering academia, my research goal has been to develop a selective Asian carp toxicant in collaboration with the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (USGS) and US Fish and Wildlife Service. I am also interested in pursuing the synthesis of natural products or other biologically active compounds.
