Community Service – Service Learning Policy  

All nursing majors entering under the 2010 or older catalogs are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of community service activities. These 30 hours must be completed by the end of fall semester of the senior year or students will not be eligible for graduation.  The students are responsible for completing the community service tracking tool and reviewing it with their academic advisor.  The type of service activity is open to student choice.  Service as part of the general education courses is acceptable to fulfill the criteria.  At the completion of each service activity, a reflection must be written to summarize the value of the experience.

All nursing majors entering under the 2011 or newere catalogs will complete this requirement within the Mission Seminar (VUSM 300) courses.
