I have been avoiding this kind of blog ever since I started blogging. But, it seems my day to day schedule is of great interest to prospective students and their families. I personally don't find my daily schedule anything worth writing about, but, I am here to please. So, in an attempt to suffice the curiosity, I have created a table outlining my Monday thru Friday schedule (detailing strictly my classes, work, or volleyball, not study time). Enjoy!

Today is a monumental day in the history of the United States, and not just because it was 73 degrees in La Crosse Wisconsin in November. As everyone knows (or should know), today is election day. The day where our fearless leader is chosen for the next four years. I stood in line for 25 minutes and was voter #824 in La Crosse's 11th district. I do not intend to discuss politics in this blog, nor do I really plan to in any future blogs. However, whether you are an elephant, donkey, or otherwise, VOTE! The way I see it, if you opt to forgo your right to cast a ballot on election day, you have no right to complain about anything that may be going wrong in the United States. Period.
When I agreed to be a Viterbo blogger oh so long ago, I knew my photo would be placed on the Viterbo website and readers (however many I may actually have) would be granted a glimpse into my life. But, I never expected my face to show up in the La Crosse Tribune of all places. Today, the Tribune published an article about student bloggers. All in all, it is nice to get publicity for my fellow bloggers and I as well as for Viterbo! http://www.lacrossetribune.com/articles/2008/11/04/news/z02bloggers04.txt
I have decided I want a puppy. For my new apartment next year, that is. It has to be less than twenty pounds. I am open to suggestions or free puppies.
As this year progresses, I seem to be getting sicker and sicker. People tell me that I have something called "senioritis" and it will clear up when I graduate. In all seriousness, I am really excited to graduate in a few months and begin my career as a nurse. All the hard work that I have done over the past four years will finally be validated in that precious diploma in my hand.
However, it feels like the past few weeks could be exemplified by a giant checklist and me standing with a giant pen, checking them off one by one. I first and foremost have to make sure I fulfill my major requirements, getting the necessary volunteer hours completed, classes registered, and (this one I find kind of funny) filling out an "Application for Degree" form. Basically, telling the registrars office that, "as much as I like your school, yes, I would indeed like to graduate! Thanks!" Secondly, I have to make sure I fulfill my minor requirements. This means registering for my last environmental class, filling out a waiver form, and checking one last time that I have taken all the appropriate classes. Third, I have to fulfill my honor's requirements. This means registering for three extra classes next semester in a last minute scramble to complete the course work.
All the things to look forward to as a senior....
I have begun, once again, searching for a new apartment. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind my apartment or my roomies. But, I will be graduating in a few months (YAY!), and working in the real world. I have lived close to Viterbo or on-campus for the past four years, so I feel it is time to move away from the Viterbo neighborhood and try something new. It is exciting to consider all the possibilities and to go on tours of the apartments. I have found a few that I really like. So, we will see where I end up! But, in the meantime, I thought I would provide some pictures of my current apartment (as promised a while ago!).

Over the past few years I have developed a stronger interest for photography. To help feed my interest, my parents gave me a digital camera a couple Christmas' ago. It has done me well. I love my camera. I even named it. Howard. Howard and I have gone many places together and seen many beautiful landscapes. But, it is time to upgrade. Sorry, Howard. So, I have been saving my money (working extra shifts at the hospital) to save up enough for a new SLR camera. Yes, yes, I know. I'm a college student, how could I possibly think about spending such a hefty chunk of change on a new camera? But, sometimes, you have to consider spending a little money on yourself for FUN! As a tribute to Howard, I have posted some of my latest photos from around La Crosse.
One of the things I love about La Crosse is that there is always some kind of random festival or "fest" going on in the area. The past weekend was no exception. The second Saturday in October is traditionally Historic Downtown day in La Crosse. They have local music artists in the park performing, trolley tours of La Crosse, and tons of other activities. I took advantage of the great weather, took some photos, went window shopping at some of the specialty stores downtown, and walked through Riverside park. For more information about Historic Downtown day or other random festivals in La Crosse, visit this site: http://www.cityoflacrosse.org/CurrentEvents.asp?lngCalendarID=21
Weddings. The perfect opportunity to meet new people, dance like a fool, and eat cake! This weekend a friend of mine tied the knot with her military hubby. The ceremony and reception were held in Elroy, about an hour from La Crosse. All my roomies were invited along with a few other familiar faces. We all ate good food, had some good conversations, a lot of laughs, and yes, danced like dorks! Good times.
