76ers MEN'S BASKETBALL 1980-1984

Dr. Richard Brostrom is being honored for his role as the quintessential student/athlete. A gentleman on and off the court, he earned the Western Wisconsin Sportsman-of-the-Year award in 1984, Brostrom was a model for both today's and tomorrow's student/athlete.

He played and started in every game of his four year career and earned his reputation as a hard working determined frontline player who possessed great leadership skills. He is a member of the V-Hawk 1,000 point club with 1,074 points and was an Al-Conference selection his senior season.

A Chemistry major, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and minored in both Math and Biology. He was a member of Student Government and of the President's Council. He received the college's prestigious Leadership award in 1984.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 76ers 1975-1986

James Glasshoff is being honored for his contribution to Viterbo College and its athletic department.

He became the college's first full-time employee in the athletic department and served as the program's Athletic Director, Men's Basketball Coach, Intramural Director. He was a teacher of Physical Education, and served as Golf Coach.

He was an active member in the affiliations of the athletic department serving as President of both the National Little College Athletic Association and the Upper Midwest Collegiate Conference.

His basketball team's won four conference championships and traveled to the NLCAA National Tournament six times during his eleven seasons as head coach.

76ers MEN'S BASKETBALL MANAGER1977-1981

Daniel Hutchens became an inspirational leader for the 76er men's basketball program through the courage he displayed in battling the effects of Muscular Dystrophy.

He rendered medical and managerial attention to the team, raising players' spirits on road trips and paying great attention to the program's logistical needs.

He was an integral member of the team that became the college's first to make a trip to a national tournament when they traveled to Indiana for the National Little College Athletic Associations Tournament in 1977.

Courageous, inspirational, devoted, loyal are all words associated with Daniel Hutchens. His work will serve as a model for generations of V-Hawk athletes, coaches and support staff.
