WALL OF FAME SELECTION PROCESS

The Wall of Fame Committee shall be resonsible for the selection of the annual recipient(s). The committee shall meet on an "as-needed" basis throughout the year, with November 1st being the target date for the presentation of nominees.

Anyone may submit nominations to the Wall of Fame Selection Committee. However, all nominations coming from someone other than members of the selection committee must include biographical data and support materials for the nominee. Those wishing to make a nomination can obtain a nomination form (pdf download) by printing one from this website. Nominations should be submitted by October 1st each year.

The Sports Information Director will then take the list of nominees along with any other eligible candidates and submit the list to the Chair of the Selection Committee. The committee will review this list and decide which nominees should be considered. At this point, it will be the responsibility of the Sports Information Director to further research the statistics, awards, and accomplishments of the individuals the committee decides are potential Wall of Fame members.

The selection committee will seek to limit the number of annual inductees to three candidates per year with a maximum being four. Candiates are eligible indefinitely. The purpose of this is to preserve the standard of excellence established and to not dilute the significance of the award during the annual ceremony. Special attention will be given to balance athletic era and gender to the extent possible.

Voting Procedure
Voting shall be done via a balloting process. The committee shall begin by narrowing down the Master List to no more than 10 nominees. At this point, each member of the committee shall vote for the three nominees he/she feel are the most deserving of Wall of Fame induction. The committee chair shall then tally all of the votes and announce the results. Based on the outcome, the committee shall have further discussion regarding the 5 highest vote getters. A final vote shall then be cast, with each committee member voting for his/her top three candidates (out of the five highest) and ranking them 1-3. The votes shall then be tallied and the committee shall then decide who the new inductees will be and how many will be inducted.
