COMPLETE TEAM EFFORT LEADS VITERBO TO FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
La Crosse, Wis. – Viterbo University played their best all around game of the season to stun the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University 80-58 in the first round of the Viterbo University Pepsi Invitational.
Trailing 4-2 early in the contest, Viterbo used a 9-0 run to take the lead with 13:05 remaining in the first half. It was a lead the V-Hawks would not give back the rest of the way. After Viterbo had stretched their first half lead to 14, the Wolves cut their deficit to 34-24 with 4:16 left in the first half. But that would be as close as they would get as the V-Hawks closed the first half on a 15-3 run to lead 49-27 at the break. Junior Eric Ambrose (Twin Lakes, Wis.) capped the run with a 65 foot three-pointer at the buzzer, his third of the half. more
