Every student has an academic advisor folder that is initiated by the Academic Advising Coordinator at the time of a new student's initial registration for classes. This folder is to be utilized by the student's academic advisor for filing report cards, letters, memos, anecdotal notes, etc. that become important information while working with the student. It also initially contains a Student Information Sheet, ACT College Report, and other pertinent information.
If the student changes majors, a request will be sent to the old academic advisor to send the advising file to the new advisor. Therefore it is very important that the information in the file be current and reflect a history of your advising service to that student.
The information in the file may be viewed by the student upon the student's request.
