Students in the UW Colleges Online degree programs are encouraged to speak with our admission counselors for course recommendations.
How will I know if my courses transfer? Our admission counselors encourage you to submit your transcripts (official or unofficial) so they can complete an unofficial evaluation for you. A final evaluation will be completed by our registrar’s office once you have registered for classes.
Does my GPA at Viterbo include prior coursework? We use your cumulative GPA at previous institutions as a factor in determining acceptance at Viterbo. Once you are a student at Viterbo, your grade point average will only reflect the courses taken at Viterbo.
Where do I send my transcripts? Unofficial transcripts are typically sent to us via mail, email, or fax from the student for unofficial evaluation by an admission counselor. Students are required to submit an official transcript from all previously attended colleges. Official transcripts must be requested and sent directly from the institution to Viterbo University Admission Office, 900 Viterbo Drive, La Crosse, WI 54601. We also accept electronic transcripts from Parchment, National Clearinghouse, and Credentials Solutions. Please select "Office of Admission - Traditional Programs" as your destination, if given more than one option when ordering electronic transcripts. Faxed, emailed, hand-delivered or marked "issued to student" transcripts are not acceptable as official transcripts.
When do I register for courses? New students will need to set up an appointment with their academic advisor to register for courses.
Is there tutoring available? Yes, we have an on campus Academic Resource Center (ARC) available to all students. The ARC has student tutors, as well as specialists in English, writing, and math. In addition, we have online tutoring available in a full range of courses, in case you are not able to come to campus. All tutoring services are available at no cost to our students.
