Grant Writer
Viterbo University invites applications for a full-time Grant Writer.  This administrative personnel position reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and will work with the campus community to encourage, facilitate, develop and submit multidisciplinary and multi-collaborative grant proposals to a wide range of funding agencies and organizations.  The position ensures that all submitted materials are of the highest quality and are delivered on time to fully support the University’s mission, core values and institutional priorities.  The position is also responsible for furthering the mission by generating and editing various stewardship letters for advancement communication.  

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required with Master’s degree preferred. Candidates must have at least three years of working experience and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the proposal and grant application process.  Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills and ability to creatively and effectively use written communication as a relationship-building and fund-raising tool required.

Assistant Vice President of Principal Gifts 
Viterbo University invites applications for an Assistant Vice President of Principal Gifts.  The primary responsibility is to strengthen and deepen relationships with major benefactors and potential benefactors by ensuring appropriate cultivation and stewardship events, personal contacts, and recognition opportunities are in place.  The individual will plan and execute individual major and planned gift cultivation and solicitation supporting approved fund-raising priorities at the university. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree and CFRE preferred. At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in front-line fundraising and strong working knowledge of industry best practices relevant to the successful cultivation and solicitation of high-level prospects and benefactors for major and planned gifts within a comprehensive campaign.  Experience preferably will be in higher education, although related experience will also be considered. Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours including travel both regionally and nationally is required.
