REPORT OF SEXUAL ASSAULT NEAR CAMPUS

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2014, shortly after 9 p.m., the on-duty Viterbo Campus Safety Security Officer was notified by the La Crosse 911 Dispatch Center that a woman had reported being sexually assaulted at the intersection of Ferry Street and 8th Street South.  The assailant is described as a white male, wearing all black who was riding a yellow BMX style bike.  The woman reported that the male grabbed her chest and attempted to lower her pants.

The La Crosse Police Department will continue increased patrol of the area.  Persons with any information about the male described in this incident are asked to contact the La Crosse Police Department at 608-785-5962.

Students and employees walking in the neighborhood are advised to walk with others and report suspicious and/or threatening behavior to Campus Safety at 608-796-3911 or the La Crosse Police Department at 911.

VITERBO STUDENTS REPORT ANOTHER INCIDENT OF SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR

 

On Wednesday morning, October 8, 2014, two female Viterbo students reported they were followed as they drove to campus.  A tall African-American male with chin hair, driving a blue car with a Wisconsin license plate number of 661-WRK, waved at the two female students repeatedly as he drove alongside them.  He followed the two female students to the front of the Student Union.  The female students parked there and remained inside their car.  The male exited his car, walked over to the female students’ car, and knocked on the window.  Another student saw him do this, and advised him to return to his car and leave.  The male walked to his car, got inside, and drove away.

 

Students and employees are advised to be aware and observant of their surroundings on campus and in the neighborhood, walk/ride with other friends, and to report suspicious behavior to Campus Security at 608-796-3911 or the La Crosse Police Department at 911.


VITERBO STUDENT REPORTS SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, a Viterbo student who lives on Farnam St, between 9th and 10th Streets, reported she and her boyfriend were followed home the prior night.  On Saturday morning she saw a man in the alley behind her home.  She later saw the same man on her property and also at the Maple Leaf parade.  She described the man as a black male with shoulder length dreadlocks, wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans.

VITERBO STUDENT REPORTS 4TH DEGREE SEXUAL ASSAULT

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, at about 11:55 p.m. a female student reported being grabbed in the genital area by a tall black male wearing a white t-shirt.  The assault took place while she was walking near the intersection of Jackson St. and 7th St.

VITERBO STUDENTS REPORT THREATENING BEHAVIOR

At approximately 5 pm today, Wednesday, Sept. 24, a Viterbo student reported to Campus Safety that while walking downtown and back, she was followed by a man driving a white Chevy Lumina with Wisconsin plates 671-WBZ.  The driver of the car is described as a black male who is approximately 5’8” with longer than shoulder length dreadlocks. The driver identified himself as Julian.

 

Another incident reported by a Viterbo student occurred on Sunday, Sept. 21, at approximately 10:30 pm.  The student reported that she was walking on 8th Street between Clare Apartments and McDonald Terrace and a black male approximately 6 feet in height made suggestive remarks to her.

 

Students are advised to walk with others and report suspicious and/or threatening activity to Campus Safety at 608-796-3911 or the La Crosse Police Department at 911. 

 

Students who may have experienced similar interactions with the suspect(s) are urged to call Campus Safety at 608-796-3911 to file a report.  Doing so will help in apprehending the individual(s) and securing the campus.
