Become an Orientation Leader!

Job Description:


  • Assist new students during Move In, V-Hawk Orientation Days, and Welcome Week
  • Lead an orientation group
  • Acquaint new students and families with information about campus services, activities, and building locations, etc.
  • Facilitate ice breaker and team building activities
  • Motivate and assist students with orientation sessions,  activities, attendance, and meals
  • Answer questions about Viterbo accurately
  • Prepare orientation materials and assist with logistics (stuff folders, run errands, help with orientation check in, set ups, clean ups, etc.)
  • Serve as a positive role model
  • Be punctual, reliable, and conscientious in the performance of all responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Completion of 24 college credit hours by the end of the spring semester
  • Attend all training and orientation sessions
  • Adherence with campus policies and federal/state/local laws
  • Ability to meet the time requirements shown below

Time Commitment

  • Attend the 2 mandatory training sessions on: 
    • Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 8 a.m.-5 p.m. 
  • Assist with V-Hawk Orientation Days from Friday, August 22, through Sunday, August 24.
  • Invite, recruit and join your Orientation Group for the Welcome Back Bash on Thursday, August 28, between 2 and 4 pm.

Being able to uphold the time commitment is a requirement to being an Orientation Leader. No exceptions will be made. Please make sure this won't be a problem with any of your other extracurricular activities before you interview. 

Application Directions

Application and recommendation form is due no later than Monday, March 17, 2014 at 5 p.m.  Stop by Campus Activities office to sign up for an individual interview (Room 115 in Hawks Nest).
