Community Interpreting Certificate

Program Requirements

Students will be eligible to receive the certificate after completing the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of the required courses in the certificate
  • Internship/Practicum
  • Exit exam

Tuition And Fees

The Community Interpreting Certificate has been structured to meet the needs of working people in the community and the tri-state area. The certificate program is a total of 13 credits. Courses are taught in accelerated online 8-week classes, one in the first half and one in the second half of the fall and spring semesters, plus a 1 credit internship in the spring semester. The price per certificate credit (2014–2015) is $325. This amount includes some materials and examination fees.

INTP 301 Introduction to Interpreting (3 credits)

INTP 444 Intercultural Competence and Ethics in Interpreting (3 credits)

INTP 452 Seminar in Legal Interpreting 1 (3 credits)
