Dear Student and Family,
Viterbo University has a program called Student Support Services (SSS)/TRIO. SSS provides academic support to first generation college students. Staff in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) serve as academic advisor to freshmen in SSS. In addition, a student-to-student/peer academic coaching/mentoring program pairs incoming freshmen (you!) with continuing SSS students. This pairing helps new students learn from continuing students how best to adjust to college and to the differences between high school and university life. Students who qualify for SSS are invited to move in two days early in August to begin the process of building friendships and becoming comfortable with Viterbo.
The program is limited to 60 incoming freshmen who are first generation (meaning neither parent has a four-year college degree) and have a family income less than $35,500.
What do we need from you? We need taxable income information because the FAFSA does not require that number. All information is kept confidential. On Line 43 of the 1040 tax form, you will find your taxable income and on line 6d the number of exemptions. Please enter that information on the form below. A family of four earning a taxable income that exceeds $35,500 may designate N/A on the taxable income line. Everyone must complete this form.
Completing this form does not guarantee that you will be part of the Student Support Services program. Students selected are notified through their Viterbo email.
The ARC staff looks forward to meeting and working with you on your academic journey!
If you have any questions, please call 608-796-3194 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
