"Booze and Belts" Traffic Safety Campaign

Law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin will mobilize from December 12th to 20th to save lives and prevent injuries with the "Booze and Belts" traffic safety campaign.  Roadways are dangerous this time of year.  Consistent safety belt use is the single most effective way during a crash to protect against being ejected from a vehicle or thrown around violently inside it (and possibly hitting another vehicle occupant).  Although progress in preventing drunken driving has been made, too many people are still being killed or injured because of the irresponsible decision to drive while impaired.

Emergency Situation

In the event of an emergency, it is important to immediately call for assistance.  Phone numbers you can call to request assistance in an emergency include:

  • Police Department - 911
  • Fire Department - 911
  • Campus Security - 608-796-3911 or 608-780-1582
