Do you want to learn more about Rubrics and Marking Guides? Cari will be discussing their features and how to use them at a Lunch and Learn on Wednesday at noon, feel free to bring your lunch. No open sessions this week, go enjoy your Fall Break. All sessions are in the Learning Commons (2nd floor of the library MC248)

Wednesday 15 Oct Lunch and Learn: 12-1

Moodle tip of the week:

  1. Course Evals now completed. Evaluations for classes that end anytime during the 1st7 week term of the semester closed last night at midnight. Faculty will receive an email with results on 23 Oct.
  2. Moodle downtime. The new Moodle will be down on Friday 17 October from 8:00a-about 10:00a while we apply some address changes.  After Moodle is back up, I will send an email, and you will be able to access Moodle using the moodle.viterbo.edu address. If you have made a bookmark for the new Moodle, it will no longer work.
  3. Turnitin Reminder. It is not a good idea to import or reuse a Turnitin assignment. Because Turnitin is an external service, all the students and papers from the previous assignment will come along. Additionally, we had a different ID number in the old Moodle, so assignments from those classes may not be able to connect.  Contactcourserequest@viterbo.eduand we can help you out.

Student Response Systems

(Technologies for Teaching and Learning) Permanent link

Student response systems allow instructors to interact ask questions and invite live (anonymous) student response via an electronic device to invite and track student participation and attention in class. The following handout was developed following a demonstration by Top Hat, a student response system provider: http://libguides.viterbo.edu/loader.php?type=d&id=1223093. The handout outlines some of the features of Top Hat software, as well as a couple others used on campus, including TurningPoint and Socrative.
