Viterbo University's campus organizations serve as an added educational resource to students, giving them experiences related to their classes and provides a variety of activities to supplement and balance their lives. Involvement in a group that helps to explore interests can be a source of developing skills, learning more about the many facets of a particular area, experiencing the interplay of working with others, and assuming leadership roles.

Alliance for Environmental Change Today (AFECT) - Works to inform the Viterbo community of the growing need of awareness concerning our environment. By implementing ecological practices around the Viterbo campus and surrounding community, we will be able to sustain an eco-friendly system through a drive to help the environment and all of its inhabitants.
Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society (Tri-Beta) - An honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences. Tri-Beta is designed to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences, and to promote the dissemination of information and new interpretations among students in the life sciences.
BioChem/Environmental Club - Provides students of any major interested in the natural sciences, the opportunity to interact in the areas of science. Members engage in community service with a biannual highway clean-up project and many other projects.
Computer Information Systems Club - Provides social and professional development opportunities for those interested in CIS.
College Democrats- A collection of Democrat, Independent, Progressive, and like minded students which support local, state, and national democratic candidates to provide a democratic support group on campus where students can become actively involved in democratic political activities.
Comrades in Art, Viterbo University Art Club - Promotes aesthetic experiences and their appreciation beyond the studio classroom; to provide an intellectual and social forum for all who share interest in the visual arts; to promote goodwill and arts ambassadorship among the Viterbo University and public communities.
Criminal Justice/Sociology Club - Provides students to explore the world of criminality and social issues. Not only do members engage in activities, but learn through presentations from members of the community and conferences.
Education Club - Members are typically education majors or those interested in the teaching profession; the club develops its members in educational leadership with a sense of individual and civic responsibility, encourages best practice professionally and ethically, and provides social and recreational activities. Members participate in Outreach to Teach, Read Across America and Safe Trick or Treat.
English Club - Designed to promote English as a major or minor, and to increase communication within the department and within the college community. The club is also responsible for producing the Viterbo literary art magazine called Touchstone. The magazine provides Viterbo students with an outlet for publications of prose, poetry, and art, as well as with the learning experience and freedom of selecting pieces and preparing the layout and design of a magazine.
Garden Club (VUGC) - Promotes and maintains awareness of the great landscaping that Viterbo has to offer. In addition, the VUGC will serve as an advocacy organization for campus beautification efforts and environmental sustainability both on campus and in the La Crosse area.
Global Rhythms - Viterbo’s international club celebrating cultural diversity. Typical activities each year include: socials, camping, international dance and international dinner.
Leave Your Neighborhood Changed (LYNC) - Is a collegiate service organization that promotes fellowship, leadership, and service. Mission is to develop university students into responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to serving their community. Members have volunteered for community organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity.
Pep Band - Provides an energetic, engaging, and fun atmosphere at athletic events for the enjoyment of athletes, fans, and members.
Philosophy Club - Provides an intellectual community for the advancement of meaningful discourse on campus. The club will promote aspects of thinking such as formal logic, critical thinking, clear articulation of ideas, synthesis of group thoughts, and clear argumentation. We will be open to discussion of current philosophical issues, as well as those that have existed for millennia. All persons and their opinions and beliefs will be treated respectfully, but participants in discussion will be expected to give reasons for their statements.
Pre-Optometry Club - Supports the pre-optometry students, assist those involved, promote, and increase attendance, and help provide a more enjoyable atmosphere throughout all aspects of their educational experience.
Psychology Club - Supports student body education by informing and encouraging mental and emotional wellness by facilitating involvement with the community and campus life.
Residence Hall Council (RHC) - A governing body that represents the Residence Halls on campus. Its goal is to provide service to residents within the residence halls as well as providing program options. There are also outstanding leadership options with RHC, including annual conferences.
SOAHR - The Student Organization Advocating Human Rights, in line with Franciscan values, seeks to enlighten and educate the campus and community by raising awareness and advocating for human rights with the goal of fostering unity and respect for the world through social action.
Social Work Club - Promotes awareness of the Social Work profession as well as educate and advocate for social causes, through coordinating events on campus and local community.
Spanish Club- For students interested in the Spanish language and culture. Members host campus cultural events and engage in teaching Spanish to area children. The Spanish Club fosters understanding and appreciation for Spanish and Hispanic-American cultures through experiences emphasizing language, social issues, service, and fun.
Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) - Committee serves as a communications link between varsity athletes and the athletic administration, unity with athletes and teams, and to increase involvement and awareness of Viterbo’s intercollegiate athletic programs.
Student Activity Board (SAB) - Members plan free events and activities for the student body during the academic year. SAB coordinates social, cultural, and educational activities such as bowling and movie nights, bands, performers, Homecoming, and Courtyard Carni.
Student Dietetics Association (SDA) - Promotes the profession of nutrition and dietetics as well as heightening awareness of healthy eating among students. The annual apple pie sale is a holiday highlight.
Student Government Association (SGA) - Elected board of student representatives working to make student life on campus for both residents and commuters an outstanding experience. SGA distributes the student activity fee each semester, supporting student services such as, VU Bus Pass, cardio/weight room equipment, student publications, activities, events, clubs, travel scholarships, and much more.
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) - Team of students who aim to reach and motivate students and surrounding communities by demonstrating leadership and teaching the basic principle of personal finance, economics, ethics, and entrepreneurship. Annual projects include Angel Tree.
Taking New Tactics (TNT) - Peer education program for those who wish to facilitate a variety of campus activities that focus on promoting healthy lifestyles and low-risk choices.
Viterbo Student Nurses Association (VSNA) - Helps student nurses promote profession on campus and local area. VSNA offers student mentoring, service opportunities, and support. Activities include Relay for Life, blood drives, and internship fairs.
Student Publications:
Lumen is the Viterbo student newspaper. Its purpose is to provide communication among members of the Viterbo community. Included are impartial reports on campus events and other information of interest to the community. It should stimulate thinking, serve as a forum for opposing views on issues, and show the relationship of the campus to city, national, and world events.
Touchstone is the Viterbo literary art magazine. Its purpose is to provide Viterbo students with an outlet for publications of prose, poetry, and art, as well as with the learning experience and freedom of selecting pieces and preparing the layout and design of a magazine. Sport Clubs:
Boxing/Martial Arts Club - Promotes physical fitness, self-defense, and competition with the spirit of Franciscanism.
Dance Team - For female students who are interested in modern dance routines which are performed at men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic competitions.
Outdoor Adventures Club (OAC) - Provides students exposure to outdoor recreation, leadership experience, and education in the natural environment. Outdoor recreational opportunities include camping, canoeing, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing and many other fun opportunities to be outside and enjoy the the natural world with individuals who share the same interests.
Rugby Club - Open to all interested students, faculty, and staff. Teams for men only at this time.
The Viterbo Virtue Paintball Club - Introduces students to the extreme sport of paintball, develop teamwork, good sportsmanship, strong communication skills, and conservation stewardship.
Water ski Club - promote the sport of water skiing (slalom, trick and jump), wakeboarding, water safety, good sportsmanship, intercollegiate communication, and to develop lasting relationships between club members. The team also provides students with the opportunity to participate in water ski tournaments by USA Water Ski and the National Collegiate Water Ski Association.
