Judy Anderson named Teacher of the Year

Judy Anderson, an associate professor of nursing, was named Viterbo University’s 2009 Teacher of the Year at the annual Rose Awards ceremony April 29.

Known as both a talented lecturer and a gifted facilitator of active learning strategies, “she genuinely cares” and students feel “respected and encouraged to make the most of their educational opportunities,” wrote students who nominated her for the award.

Anderson earned a Ph.D. in nursing from Widener University in Pennsylvania. She teaches various graduate and undergraduate nursing courses at Viterbo.


Neil Rouse named Employee of the YearNeil Rouse

Neil Rouse, assistant director of instructional and information technology, was named Employee of the Year. Rouse implements, administers, and maintains campus information systems and network infrastructure, as well as assists users in diagnosis and support of campus technology issues.

“No matter how difficult the task or how big the problem, Neil maintains his determined attitude while remaining calm and polite,” said a fellow employee who nominated him for the award. “He is also committed to the student-first approach of the university, and he does what it takes to support those values.”
